Hi 👋 I'm Kerri!
I’m an American artist based in Norway and now a dual citizen! I create digital collages by combining original photography and bright colors into a system of interlocking shapes I’ve developed over the past three years. The system consists of 5 shapes that I can arrange in dozens of ways. I find having a system to work within frees me up to focus on the colors and photography, which can be original or pulled from print media.
I’m inspired by consumer culture, pop culture and travel. I’m interested in color and shape and how they can positively affect our emotions. Check out the book Joyful by Ingrid Fetell Lee or her Ted Talk here. Her book has answered many questions I had about my own art practice and why we as humans are drawn to the imagery we’re drawn to. I highly recommend!
My creative journey has evolved with my circumstances: at university I was an oil painter, after graduation I switched to photography, first film and then digital. These days the best part of my day is when I get to sit on the couch and draw Erewhon smoothies on my iPad in Adobe Fresco.
Aside from art, other things I enjoy are: my pug puppy Zoe, playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure, trying a new pub in Oslo every week with my husband and going for a run in Fornebu.
I make images that bring me joy and I hope they’ll brighten your day too.
Thanks for stopping by!
